Make a difference to climate change

Climate change is a major issue of our generation and with the effects of climate change becoming increasingly obvious, governments are realising the need for urgent action. However, treaties and legislation alone cannot save the planet - we all have a vital role to play in helping to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere.

One way we can all help is to use energy more wisely and so reduce the amount of greenhouse gases - particularly carbon dioxide - emitted into the atmosphere. Another way is to contribute towards schemes that offset the impact of your travel. Travelling to Cuba and back by aeroplane on average produces over 2 tonnes of CO2 per person. The cost of offsetting this is currently £36, although if you register your donation as eligible for gift aid, this is reduced to £28 per person. Captivating Cuba supports Pure (www.puretrust.co.uk) as a charity accredited to government "Gold" standard for its work in carbon offsetting, but we would welcome your support of any recognised scheme.
