Escorted Cuba Tours - Splendours Of Cuba

An 11 night escorted tour ranging across Cuba.

This tour is available on the following dates: 7 July 2010, 18 August 2010, 15 September 2010, 20 Oct 2010.

Day 1 - Havana

Arrival at Jose Marti International Airport. Transfer to Palacio O'Farrill (BB)

Day 2 - Havana

After breakfast clients will commence a full-day guided sightseeing tour of Havana. A unique experience, the tour will visit all the major sights of the city - including the historic Plaza de Armas and Catherdral Square, the Capitol Building, Morro Castle & Cigar Factory - as well as absorbing the atmosphere of the narrow cobblestone streets of Old Havana, flanked by old colonial buildings dating back as far as the 16th Century.

Lunch will be taken at El Aljibe restaurant.

Return to Hotel.

At night transfer to local Restaurant. Dinner will be taken at El Gato Tuerto at 21:00 hours.

Day 3 - Havana

Breakfast.

Day dedicated to Ernest Hemingway with visits to the Bodeguita del Medio & Floridita bars, his old home at Finca Vigia and the fisherman's town of Cojimar.

Lunch will be taken at Las Terrazas de Cojimar restaurant, after which the rest of the day is free for clients to relax or further explore on their own. Dinner will be taken at the hotel.

Day 4 - Havana - Santiago de Cuba

Breakfast. Clients will be collected from their hotel and transferred to the airport for the flight to Santiago de Cuba. On Arrival, clients will enjoy a full day tour of Cuba's second city including visits to Revolution Square and Cespedes Park.

Lunch will be taken at El Zunzun restaurant. At the end of the tour clients will be transferred to Melia Santiago Hotel. Accommodation will be in HB bases. Dinner at Hotel

Evening free for optional activities.

Day 5 - Santiago de Cuba

After breakfast clients will set off to the Morro Castle & Cayo Granma where lunch will be taken. Clients will then return to the hotel and are free for the rest of the afternoon to either relax at the hotel or explore on their own. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 6 - Santiago de Cuba - Bayamo - Camaguey

After breakfast clients will commence the journey west with an approximate 2hr drive to historic Bayamo, stopping briefly on the way at El Cobre church. On arrival in Bayamo, clients will have a brief tour of the town followed by lunch at La Bodega Restaurant. It is then a further 3hr drive through farming country to the city of Camaguey. Overnight accommodation and dinner at the Gran Hotel Camaguey or Colon.

Day 7 - Camaguey - Sancti Spiritus - Trinidad

After breakfast clients will embrak on a brief tour of the city before departing for Trinidad. En route clients will stop at the picturesque colonial town of Sancti Spiritus for a brief tour and lunch at Quinta Santa Elena restaurant. After lunch clients will head through the Valley of the Sugar Mills to Trinidad, visiting Manaca-Iznaga tower along the way. Overnight accommodation and dinner will be at Iberostar Grand Hotel Trinidad.

Day 8 - Trinidad

After breakfast clients will take a tour of Trinidad including visits to the Romantic Museum and famous Bar Canchanchara to sample a local cocktail. Lunch is included at the Plaza Mayor restaurant. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner will be taken at the hotel, after which there are several venues in town offering live music clients are free to visit at their leisure. (Optional activities)

Day 9 - Trinidad - Santa Clara

After breakfast, clients will head north through the beautiful scenery of the Escambray Mountains to Santa Clara and a visit to Ernesto Guevara Square and Tren Blindado Memorial.

Lunch is included at Los Caneyes hotel on the outskirts of town, after which the day continues with a further scenic drive to the maritime city of Cienfuegos with a brief tour of this, the most French influenced town in Cuba. Overnight accommodation and dinner at La Union Hotel.

Day 10 - Cienfuegos - Vinales

After breakfast proceed to Villa Soroa for Lunch. There will then be a tour of the Soroa's Orchidearium and surroundings before continuing to Vinales. Accommodation and dinner at Los Jasmines.

Day 11 - Vinales

After breakfast. Full day tour to the Vinales Valley and the City of Pinar Del Rio. Lunch at Don Tomas Restaurant. Dinner at Mural de la Prehistoria Restaurant. After dinner return to Hotel.

Day 12. Vinales - Las Terrazas - Havana

After breakfast depart for Las Terrazas. Brief tour of Las Terrazas Community on arrival, where lunch will be taken at either El Cafetal or Casa del Campesino. After lunch clients will be transferred to Havana Airport, the city or beach extension.
