The elegant colonial structure of the Hotel Florida in Cuba's Old Havana first opened its doors as a hotel in 1885 and became one of the city's most popular accommodations with Americans and Europeans alike. After years of closure, all the splendour and charm has now been reborn with a recent refurbishment completed meticulously in the original style: Havana's Hotel Florida is back, and it's more welcoming than ever.
Provided you get one of the rooms with a window, you will find the majestic old Hotel Florida in Havana pretty hard to leave for the day. Each room is decorated with vintage furnishings, marble floors and attractive framed prints, giving the accommodation a certain austere charm unmatched in the city. Although the main entrance of the Hotel Florida is on Havana's bustling Cale Obispo, the building offers a tranquil alternative to the pace of modern Cuba with a calming central courtyard punctuated with stone columns and dizzying high arches.
If you are looking for high class hotel still deeply connected with its heritage and the style and architecture of a time gone by, Cuba's Hotel Florida is the obvious choice.

Lovely hotel, perfect situation for exploring Havana. Rooms are around an internal atrium and it can get a bit noisy at night - there is a piano bar off the atrium open unitl 1.30am and the noise carries upwards to the rooms. Rooms were lovely with high ceilings and period furniture. Hotel staff friendly and helpful and breakfast plentiful. S.S. in November 2008
This is a beautiful hotel in a great location right in the heart of the old town. We had a great stay here and the room was fantastic if a little noisy in the morning. D.M in September 2008
