Melia Cayo Coco in Cayo Coco
Located just 1km from the second largest coral reef in the world, Melia Cayo Coco is a lovingly designed hotel ideally suited for those on their honeymoon. Many of the rooms and bars are built upon the sea, removing any barrier between the beauty of the natural environment and the luxury of your surroundings. And with a feast of facilities and pleasures at your fingertips, there's every opportunity for Cayo Coco to become your ideal holiday destination.
Described as an 'undiscovered pearl', Cayo Coco is Cuba's most expansive and breathtaking beach resort. With 15 miles of virgin sands spreading either side of the, relatively few, luxury hotels that lie amongst the palms, Cayo Coco has room to expand and looks set to do so. Second only to Varadero in size, the region still retains its crystal clear waters and diversity of local life and colour, providing a taste of Cuban beauty amongst a resort of world-class facilities.
Melia Cayo Coco's facilities include a swimming pool, a 24hr cafe, sauna, piano bar, nightclub, watersport equipment hire, air conditioning and rooms with balcony / terraces.

Feedback and reviews
Enjoyed our stay here although we had ask to be moved as the first room they tried to put us in reeked of smoke and we couldn't open the patio door. It was also on the ground floor with no view, just a hedge in front of the patio window! We enjoyed the specialist restaurants and were lucky enough to go to 3 out of the 4 nights which we were glad about as the main dining hall was a bit souless, reminded me a bit of a school dining hall! I had a friend who was staying next door at the Melia Sol which was 4* and although the surroundings of our hotel were more upmarket hers was definitely more friendly. We found the staff a bit disinterested at Melia Coco. The beach was great though. If you like sitting by the pool (we don't) the area and seating around the pool was quite limited for the size of the resort. Rating 3 out of 5 A.M. in February 2010
Cayo Coco was also superb with a bit of sunbathing, scuba diving, swimming, motor-boating and cycling. For us the extra spent on the superior room on the lagoon in the Melia was definitely worth while. Paulino took us on a spendid bird watching outing in whiich we must have seen at least 60 different species including a number of endemics. P.G. in February 2008
