Carbon Offsetting
Climate change is a major issue of our generation and with the effects of becoming increasingly obvious, governments are realising the need for urgent action. However, treaties and legislation alone cannot save the planet – we all have a vital role to play in helping to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere.
One way we can all help is to use energy more wisely and so reduce the amount of greenhouse gases – particularly carbon dioxide – emitted into the atmosphere. Another way is to contribute towards schemes that offset the impact of your travel. Travelling to Cuba and back by aeroplane in Economy from London on a direct flight on average produces around 2.5 tonnes of CO2 per person.
The cost of offsetting this is around £70, although if you register your donation as eligible for gift aid, this will be reduced.
